For Heyday Productions 2020 motion picture The Secret Garden we worked from designs created by Grant Montgomery to create four individual puppet characters based loosely on Hindu gods Rama, Sita, Agni and Ravana, with two additional half sized ‘doll’ puppets of Rama and Sita held by Mary during the sequence. The finish of the puppets was elegant, sumptuous and ornate, with each puppet hand carved, painted and overlaid with textiles and decorative elements to a high standard. Each of the four main puppets were operated by three of our highly skilled bunraku puppeteers.
